To follow any other course of action would be inordinately selfish of me and unfair to you, and—gratifyingly—my enormous unspoken love for you would not abide such callous selfishness on my behalf for any appreciable length of time. You go, I will stay behind, and our lives will now diverge—probably permanently—even though my feelings for you have not abated in the least. Yet, paradoxically, that immense unrequited love is the very reason I must not stand in your way and attempt to influence your life-changing decision in any fashion…..
